Both my parents were ardently anti gun.
So much so that I was out of the house married for a few years before I bought my first pistol.
I'd bought and hidden a Ruger 10/22 my junior year of HS. (1972) and believe me when I say it was a highly guarded state secret!
Watching the news, TV shows of the day, etc. combined to inform me that evil was conquered with firearms. Well, one of the ways anyway...
My Dad passed in 86, but my Mom is still around. She was none too happy to hear that I defended my family on a camping trip against 2 BG's with my pistol. So anti gun is she, that she and my sister both said I shouldn't have had the gun.
I asked them what I should have done, and they restated that I shouldn't have had the gun.
Go figure.
When liberalism is your religion, logical thought and consequences are not only inconvenient, they're forbidden.
I'll die on my feet - not on my knees.
