I did just that, I sent mine to S&W a couple of years ago and had them install the unfluted cylinder, simply because I like the look.

It took about 6 weeks, they said that they had the cylinder when I called, but sold 8 of them to 'Germany'. (Why?)

Anyway, I hadda wait until they made another run. Cost about $180 with the round-trip ticket.

I do not have a regular holster for mine, I use it for ICORE shooting and have one of those 'skeleton' style holsters. It fits in that great, but probably not what you're looking for.
