This is hilarious. A couple of years ago a lady I work with wanted to buy a revolver for her Dad for christmas. I helped her find a very nice, used Model 38. When she showed it to her brother-in-law, he was shocked at the crack in the side. She called me and told me the gun was broken and wanted to know what to do. I told her to bring too me so I could check it out and when she showed me the "crack" I just about fell over laughing. It was the side plate just like this 686.
