Early on I carried a 6" honestly can't recall if it was a Dan Wesson or Ruger Security Six.

I got the same advice regarding the shorter barrel length and also learned that it was very uncomfortable in the car.

Tried several different brands and finally carried a 586 4" until I went with the 4506 in 1989.

Self loading sidearms ever since, now have the M&P 45 ACP.
