I'm looking at a NIB model 63 no dash with a 4" not pinned barrel. I've also noticed no dash models with pinned barrels. I just assumed that a dash number would have been added when S&W decided to not pin the barrels. Can someone explain why S&W made both versions during the "no dash" era ? Is one preferred over the other ? The asking price for the unpinned model is $550. Is that about average with box and paperwork and tool?
