I was wondering if you could provide a few details like width, spacing, hole diameter etc. I assume you drilled with (say) a forstner bit and finished the slot on a band saw?

I like the tapered feet - nice touch - just because it's in a safe doesn't mean it has to be ugly! I also think felt would be a nice addition - I was wondering if it comes in rolls that are peel/stick in .75 inch width.
The current configuration will not work with pistols. If you make it large enough for pistols, the revolvers will "flop" around in the slots.

The same could however be done for a dedicated pistol stand.

The stand is 17 1/2” wide with an overall height of 2 3/4”.

The notched cross piece is 2” wide, 3/4” thick and 17 1/2" long.

The notches are 2 1/2” on center and 1 1/4" from the ends and the notches are 1 1/4” deep and 3/4" wide (forstner bit and bandsaw).

The legs are 3/4" tall 1” wide and 2” long, tapered on the ends.

All the edges except the feet are rounded over with a 1/4” radius round over in the router. All other edges broke with sandpaper.

If I find some self-stick felt I'll probably do that but that's how it is for now.
