This old fart with arthritis in his hands can tell you for a fact that the 45ACP has more recoil then the 10mm does. The only thing is the 10 mm is way louder. I reload for 357, 10mm and 44 Mag and only thing I light load is some wad cutters for all three. It has more to due with bullet weight making for recoil, and 45ACP generally shoots 200/230 bullets and 10mm is mostly 170 to 180 gr loads.

The Glock 29SF sub-compact easy out shoots my Colt Delta Elite because it's easy to control and has poloygonal rifling and the 20SF is even better. I had an early M&P 45APC and the recoil made the gun a PIA compared to my 10mm's and was not as accurate as the Glock so I got rid of it.
