I was in the same situation as you when I bought mine about 5 years ago. I ended up buying the 6" but now really wish I had bought the 4". The 6" is a great revolver and I enjoy the heck out of it but it is nose heavy. The 4" has much better balance. I wanted mine for grouse hunting but have yet to do it. Maybe this fall is the time
