Three weeks ago I had some surgery on my left shoulder and last Thursday shot my Shiloh Sharps 45-70 off hand a few times along with my freinds British Enfield .303 which he warned had heavy felt recoil...shooting at a table. Off hand it was just fine. And I was wearing a tanktop and there was no recoil pad. Metal against skin. And I'm not power mad when it come's to rifles. Position means a lot.
