I've always said the hardest thing about a new hobby is learning the jargon. What makes it even harder is when you don't have open minded or understanding people to help you out with jargon, abbreviations, hot topics, frequently asked questions.

A good example would be the IL* (internal lock). I remember coming here two years ago and wondering what the heck it was, why people hated it, and why it was there in the first place. Luckily when I opened a thread inquiring about it, it was explained to me in quite detail. I also got links to other threads about the IL.
