James, The Model 125 is a very rare S&W rifle. I estimate maybe 1/2 doz. may have been made. See page 333 in SCSW, 3rd edit. I have factory brochures describing the Model 125 dated 3/73 and pictures of it were in things like Gun Digest, Guns Annuals, etc of the period, so marketing was started but production was stopped. From the pictures, I would assume they were made from Husqvarna parts and perhaps that part source dried up, for what ever reason, so production didn't happen, except for a few examples. The Model 125 followed the end of the letter series rifles made by Husqvarna until 1972. S&W did not again offer rifles until 1981 when the Japanese Howa rifle series began. Ed.
