Remember, the 15-22 has a 1:15" twist, which actually should make it better for slightly heavier bullet weights. Most .22LR rifles seem to be 1:16". Whether this is enough of a difference to actually come into play is yet to be seen, but it may have influenced their decision to go with the 40gr. Also, round nose ammo tends to feed smoother in most applications than HP (which is what most 36gr rounds are).

Do let us know how it works out! I agree that unless the Standard Velocity load on the "Tactical" rounds really makes a big difference, for the money Cabela's charges, I might as well purchase 40gr Mini-Mag. I've had no problems with those at all.
