I'm trying again to make the AFG work for me. It's pretty comfortable and functional for me if I place the front tab between my index and middle fingers.
I swapped the stock semi-auto bolt carrier out for a Spike's Tactical M16 carrier, still running the stock bolt (I keep the stock carrier and Spike's bolt in my bag as a spare BCG). I'm also running a Spike's ST-T2 buffer. Cycling was smooth off the rack but this setup is a noticeable improvement over stock. The heavier carrier and buffer slow cycling down a bit without adversely affecting performance / reliability.
Here's a pic of my secondary as well - M&P9 w/ Apex Tactical DCAEK, CT Lasergrip, Streamlight TLR-1 light, and Arredondo 23 round magazine extension.
Still trying to decide whether or not I want to switch out the sights for tritiums. I've had night sights on my 4506 for years and I prefer a simple white 3-dot sight picture. The tritiums busy the sight picture IMO.
