So let me see if I got this right; basically you purchased a product that you were unable to adequately inspect along with a driver who was also unable to adequately inspect it, you blame this entirely on Smith & Wesson (who admittedly failed to properly inspect the pistol) and not with Gander Mountain who also failed to properly inspect the pistol (then sold it you) while all along feeling buyers remorse and believing that somehow Ruger's quality control is air tight and that they do not make mistakes. Oh and you decided to come to a forum dedicated to fans of the platform to criticize it and find fault only with its manufacturer. I will admit that I am naturally defensive of S&W if you admit that sounds a little trollish.

Take it back to Gander Mountain, return it as a defective product and buy that Ruger SR9. I hope it serves your needs well and you are happy with it. I have no experience with them but have read good things about the more recent production models.
