I have two post lock guns, a 5" 629 classic and a 25-13 in 45 colt, either is as good as any of my older Smith pistols..686 plus, model 625 also in 45 colt. Honestly, I don't like the lock either, but as far as quality goes, I don't see a difference in fit, function or performance, they are all top notch guns. My next will be a model 627, and I feel that Smith and Wesson are the best production revolvers out there (other than that judge thing) since colt quit the revolver buisness, I loved my old Anaconda. Anyway, I think Smith sells alot of revolvers, and they are still quality revolvers.
