Default SOLD: Old 'Ideal' Bullet Mould

The mould is marked Ideal. Number 456191. Excellent condition. I've had it for at least 40 years and maybe used it once. Screw slots are excellent, sprue plate edges are very nice, and the inside is like new. It's been stored with oil to keep rust off the iron. Really in good shape for an old mould.

The 456191 is for the 45-70. From my 1948 Lyman Gunsight Company catalog, "456191. Standard Bullet. Regular factory bullet for .45-60, .45-90, and .45-125 Winchester Express. All our .456 and .457 series of bullets are cast slightly oversize so that they can be sized to any of these sizes." Casts at approximately 300 grains depending on alloy, and the book lists loads for the 45-70 at over 1700 fps.

$40.00, mould without handles, shipped 3 day priority USPS included.
First "I'll take it" in the thread gets it. Thanks.
