$50 gets you a letter, and it is well worth the $$$$. I have done 3 in the past year and going for a 4th today. My 1953 K22 lettered with a target hammer. Your early target grips will not be numbered and they are the best ones for the early "K" revolver. Do the letter. That is a very nice revolver you have. Big Larry
