I'm new to this site and I see a few trends. Lots of talk of accessories and not a lot of techniques and reasons behind the accessories. I hate a heavy gun, hence why I purchased a plastic AR and leave it basically slick. I'm all for tools if it does something for me that makes me more effective at the job and I'm interested in reasons behind some of the setups folks have. I think an interesting thread would be photos of the rifle and a synopsis of items and why they chose to put the item on the rifle and in that spot other than just looking cool. Form follows function for me. Example I'm seeing Aimpoints and EOTechs mounted reward for much closer eye relief and vertical hand grips mounted almost next to the magazine well. Let's talk theory guys, because from my experience those mistakes are for amateurs.
