I have been shooting 45ACP w/moon clips out of the S&W 625 for years and used the same loads as my 45ACP? Is it something about the brass that makes them down load them? :confused
That is about 10%less powder for autorim

...the 1917...that is what all those loads are based on for their Max. In a modern S&W .45 ACP revolver one can use .45 Super loading data. I have spoken to the techs at Buffalo Bore who said that they have a bunch of clients who use their Super loads in 625s. The tech I spoke with had fired hundreds of their Super ammo from his gun with no ill effects.

.45 AR 255 @ 1000 fps...

.45 Super..same bullet 1075 fps...

I have reloaded the AR for 30 years....some of the loads with 185 and 200 grain JHP bullets exceed 1300 fps...

Will you get accelerated wear, sure, but you get the same thing by shooting top end .44 Mags from a Model 29.

Try SR4756 powder...does great things for non-magnum rounds like the .45 AR, .45 Colt, .44 and .38 Special....

If you don't have one, buy or borrow a chronograph....
