The 29-5 has the "Endurance Package". The visible indicator is longer, wider, and deeper cylinder stop notches. The studs in the frame were radiused to prevent cracking and the yoke retention was beefed up, among other things. This began with the 29-4 and the 629-2, IIRC. May not be important if you aren't planning to pound hundreds of full house heavy loads though it.

I have a 29-6 Classic 6-1/2" full lug blue and and it's a nail drivin' beast. I like the look of the longer stop notches too.
