I don't know if most people want them for their obvious utility, or because they complete a "retro" package about as well as anything. I have talked to some local people about making something similar from deer antlers. I haven't got anyone to actually make me one yet.
"Back in the day," a t-grip was an automatic purchase with a S&W, especially a j-frame. I believe I can remember paying as little as $2.95. I have a box, complete with the paper towel wrapper, marked $6.00. "Fits your hand to a T. Fits your gun to a T." They do fit well, without adding to the bulk of a gun you want to conceal. There is just nothing better for a rb j-frame. My opinion, of course.
I am in dire need of a polished aluminum one for my nickel Model 10-5. Don't want to pay $50+, though.
