Not really a true PPC gun, but more of an in the PPC style gun.



Base gun is an original model Colt Trooper, customized by Tom Volquartsen back in the mid 1980's, when he was still doing general gunsmithing. The V spring gun's carbon frame is blued and the stainless 5" Douglas barrel is blued. Yes, stainless can be blued after an acid bath (pickeling).

The gun is very accurate, but I've never been able to shoot the Python style V spring action well in double action, so it doesn't get shot much any more.

If I had to do it all over, I would have followed Tom's suggestion and slab sided the barrel. I don't know what the gun weighs, but it's heavy and the balance isn't great. IIRC... skipping the slab sides was a matter of not having the extra $50 at the time.
