You mean as in "Excuse me Officer while I draw my permit from my holster”? Somehow that doesn’t sound quite safe to me. Some States like Penn let you copy your permit as often as you want. Here in Ohio I was able to get a duplicate from the same Sheriff Department that issues my original for a nominal fee. Check your State rules.
