I don't use the 39A much anymore to tell you the truth. I don't like the tube magazine as much as I do a box magazine Since I can just walk out back and start hunting it's much easier to just keep a magazine loaded and ready to go with a different rifle. Still the Marlin is one of the last guns I'd get rid of. BTW. The sling is older than the rifle.
Yes, we have a lot of squirrels around here. A hard winter hit them a couple of years ago, and they all but vanished. This year they're back in good numbers. I can look out the kitchen window and watch them as I write this. I don't shoot many, but it's a good excuse to go sit on the side of the hill, with a rifle across my lap, and watch the creek where it joins the river there in the background.
The feeder is open to all.
