I have a carry permit, I simply do not get the carry permit craze business. For people who live or work in dangerous areas or who have to deal with dangerous idiots day in and day out, by all means, carry a weapon. Does that description fit you, though?

I'm not some pimply-faced kid straight out of mom and dad's house. I'm a forty year old man who is re-training after a career doing some pretty dangerous stuff over the years. I carried back then, without a permit, but I want to be able to legally. The cost isn't prohibitive in Tennessee, so I think it is time to get my CCW permit.
Sadly, the world is a dangerous place. Three National Guard soldiers found out the hard way this week that even a meal at IHOP can be deadly. I'm a big believer in tipping the scales to my advantage in any way possible, and being legally armed is only one way.
I'm through attempting to justify it any further.
