Can anyone help me out regarding the hand guard?? Is this replaceable/compatible with the aftermarket ones out there? I see that other M&P 15 models have 2 piece hand guards, and the Sport is one piece and seems shorter. Been looking, can't find specifics.

Any thoughts/suggestions? All I want is to be able to mount a rail for a bipod and light setup.

Can't wait to put some rounds through her!!

Thanks for your time.
Any carbine length handguard will fit. The unit on the sport is indeed a 2 piece, and it's not bad at all. I carried the M4 with worse attachments previously.
FWIW, the Bipod is a great tool on a longer gun. The beauty of any carbine length AR is the weight (Or lack of) and ease of positioning and delivering fire with close quarters and with many direction changes. There are some lights and red dots that can be mounted on the rifle as it is set up.
