I have had that happen on a few occasions in the woods hunting, especially in early morning, or late afternoon low light conditions. Ive always chalked it up to my mind wandering and playing tricks. I'll sometimes hear a noise I cant identify followed by dead quiet, followed by bristled neck hair.

Then there have been occasions where I have felt the compelling urge to vacate an area and quick for no good reason other than my guts telling me so.

I think part of it is the fact that there are some predatory critters starting to show themselves in my area where there never has been my whole life. That tends to put my nerves a little more on edge when Im out there.

But yeah, I definitely know what the OP is talking about......just recalling a couple incidents is creeping me out right now.
