I've had a few of the Colt Officers. I always replaced the dual recoil spring with Wolffs, and the plug with the guide rod and plug replacement unit. The reports on the tab breaking were usually on the stainless guns. .45 out of a 3.5" is a bit much for the arthritis in my wrist and hand. So no more Officers. The only Kimber I ever really liked was a compact (4") steel frame series 1 matte blue gun. I've always had problems with the extended safety accidentally "wiping off" when holstered. I know "so what".
