That's been commented on before. I don't know a thing about whether it was a S&W option or an aftermarket device. It fits perfectly into the topstrap slot. It came to me with a wooden sliver wedge forced under it to adjust elevation - the knobs are quite large and control windage. If anyone out there has seen another one and knows what it is, I'd sure be interested.
