Thanks to Matt and Paul for posting the 1944 American Rifleman article. The praise for the Triple Lock makes me wish even more to find one, or at least handle a clean one to check it out.

By the way, my comment above about investigating the case capacity of semi-balloon cases in .44 Special, as part of the information quest, is just for the sake of acquiring knowledge, not to duplicate any old loads! As has been said, there is no future in risking injury to person or firearms, when modern hardware and known-safe loads will exceed handily [if sometimes painfully] any load the old days produced for the .44 Special.
