With the exception of the can, everything can be used on my Bushmaster which is one of the advantages of getting a 15-22 in the first place.

Depends on your financial outlook. $1672 is one half month's pay for an E-5 in the Navy (after my deductions for Housing and such) so to me, that's out of the question. For others, (like you mentioned) its no big deal. I would love to put a 1200 Acog on my 15-22, but until one falls off a truck on my street, I'll use the $30 Barska one.
