This is a 2nd gen from 1958 that started life as a 5 1/2" 38 Special. They aren't very popular with collectors so although in 99% condition I picked up cheap and turned it into one they didn't make, a 44 Colt with USFA barrel and black powder chamfer cylinder chambered for 44 Spl with separate cyl bushing like the 1st gen guns (and now late 3rd gen guns). Fit the vintage India Sambar Stags to it.
This one is a 3rd gen Sheriff 44 Spl/44-40 convertible with a USFA chamfered cylinder and cyl bushing. I got the grips unfitted on E-bite and fit them.
