I bought a model 57 recently that had a dark spot on the grip. I took some oil and a rag and pretty much rubbed it all off. When I looked at my rag, it was royal blue (looked like blue ink). I gotta believe it was from the original blue liner in the case. I put a new liner in the case (second photo), but I'm not going to store the gun in the presentation case.
