I much prefer buying used when it comes to S&W revolvers (you are less likely to get a "lemon" than buying new, unfortunately). I will not own an internal lock model. All my revolvers are pre-2000, although I have been considering a no-lock Pro-Series 632. Some of the 1990's Performance Center models are of very high quality and I try to seek them out. The last "new" S&W I purchased was an inexpensive 2004 SW40VE and although I ended up selling it, it gave very good service despite it's cheap price and construction.
