IMHO, a 1st year production 1006 doesn't mean squat, especially without box or paper. It does look clean in the photos, but nothing super.
I picked mine up in late '08 or early '09 w/Novak sights instead of adjustable. As for me, I've seen far more 1006 pistols with adjustable sights. Hey, maybe my 1006 w/Novaks is worth a $500
premium.
Mine cost me $550 in 99% condition with one magazine, but without box. I considered that, and still do, to be a great price
for Southern California. The serial number is TEV12xx and according to my factory letter, the pistol was shipped from the S&W on March 5, 1990.
I've mostly found Gunbroker prices to be, well . . . a little high.
