RRA make the Hi-Rise Cantilever Scope Mount #AR0130T for around $60.
Way simpler.

Well, let me see..........hmm, maybe not the BEST solution, but it works for me! I wanted the carry handle w/rear sight, the A-2 front site, and yet be able to use both iron sights AND scope.
With THIS solution (scope), I'm getting consistent 2" to 3" groups at 100 yards using a bench rest. (And improving all the time!)
With the irons, I can keep tight groups in the 9 and X ring, which I'm happy with. So what's not to like????
