My only .44 Magnum was an early Ruger Redhawk (7 1/2") that I bought in '84 that I got to take with me when I got orders to Alaska. I already had a Marlin .44 lever gun and the two made a great pair. The Sitka deer in SE Alaska are rather small and either one (if you had the handgun skill
) was potent medicine. Somewhere along the line I got rid of both of them, which, of course in my old man wisdom I now regret.
