Has anyone put a gold bead on a non removable front sight on a M 17 SW?

I put one on a new one that had a pinned front sight and it was a no brainer, but this would require the hole to be drilled on an angle with the drills that I have not being able to remove the sight while drilling. The revolver us an almost perfect one from the 1980s.
