Help with a S&W Husqvarna Model E
Hi. I am looking for some help with a S&W rifle I just purchased, such as when it was made, how many were produced, etcetera. Here is what I have. It is a Model E Smith & Wesson made by Husqvarna in .308. The serial number is 359322. On the left side of the barrel is stamped MOD E Sweden. It is also stamped Husqvarna VapenFabriks AB Nitro. On the top of the barrel it is stamped Smith & Wesson .308 WIN. The Smith & Wesson logo is also stamped on the top of the barrel. The person I bought it from told me it was new in the box and had not been fired. That appears to be the case, as the bolt, breech, and barrel are new in appearance with no signs of wear, heat, or gunpowder.
I would appreciate any information on this particular rifle anyone might be able to afford me. If not, is there a reference anyone can direct me to? Again, I apologize for being so forward. It is just that I was so excited to hear of people (visa vie the S&W Forum) who might possibly be able to help me. Thanks. Terry
