Everytime i'm torn between buying two guns i usually end up getting both anyway. I say get both.

For the rifle in 44cal i chose the marlin 444s sporter.

But if the gun will be used for protection in the wilds i'd go with the 44mag. The 45 long colt can be super reloaded in the ruger super / blackhawk.
