The "hot" guns seem to be the sub-compact guns. A few years ago the .380's sun-compacts were hot. Now the slightly larger 9mm, 40's, and even the XDs 45 acp are hot. I have the Shield 40 and actually do pocket carry, a 6 foot frame and baggy pants or cargo shorts.

The 9c is a better fit for my hand, grip wise, but it would be just a little too big to pocket carry. I have a highly modified Ruger LC9, trigger pull length half that of the stock LC9, and that was easier to pocket carry than my Shield. The stock Shield's trigger is much better than my modified LC9's trigger.

I have modified my Shield's trigger and made the grip larger (length wise from front to rear) to fit my hand size. It is a perfect carry gun, for now. I thought the LC9 was perfect, until the Shields came out.

Ten years down the road the hot weapon will be the Electron XG 300 laser.
