I had a S&W 1000 just like the one about three posts before mine. The stock got damaged during a move but I found a replacement at Gun Parts (Numrich). It looked nice. It was an OK gun. The gas system was quite different then the other systems around at the time. It used WinChokes stamped S&W. It would choke on light loads though and stove pipe shells. I used it for Pheasant hunting once in a while and trap. One of my co workers bought it off of me because he liked it a lot. He shot his first pheasant in over 20 some years with it over my dog. It was made by Howa in Japan. Imagine that, it was made by people that are forbidden to own such a gun. I think I have some spare parts left for it and I know my co worker still has the gun.
