A couple of thoughts here.
There's a few states in America which are governed by nanny state politicos who've made it clear they're not waiting for DC to set the pace on civil disarmament via gun control. The clock is ticking for gun owners in states like Maryland, Conneticutt, and especially New York State to get what they want ASAP before it gets banned.

$2000 might be much for myself or someone in Texas, but I can understand why a NY gun collector would drop $2k on a gun. For him, its now or never.
