I bought a new Model 70 Winchester in 375H&H in 74-75. I love it. I lived in Alaska at the time. Good rifle for up there.
Of course I kept it when I retired and moved to Wyoming.
As I got older, and lazy, I got to the point I don't want to follow blood trails left by Elk. I figure the 375 lessened the chance of that. Turns out I was right. Every elk I've shot with it only made it about 2 feet, and that was straight down.
As I mentioned I got wimpier. I put a muzzle brake on mine. Its about like shooting a '06. It also shoots as flat as an 06 and is quite accurate.
Long a go I got a special bullet mold for 375 bullets. It uses a short piece of 3/8 copper tubing. Set it in the mold, pore in the lead and you have a jacked bullet. A lot cheaper then store bought bullet. FAirly accurate, the mold throws 270 grains.
