I would be very interested in hearing the rest of your story. I had a somewhat similar situation happen to me, but I was alone and had a Colt's Government Model (.45ACP) in my hand at the time. Yes, it was cocked and locked. Before I could say anything, the intruder said "Do you know Sam Smith?" My response was "Do you know Jesus Christ? You're about to meet him." He left promptly and I had the "jelly legs" for about an hour afterwards. I phoned the police to report it (this way before the days of 9-1-1) and the Desk Sgt., once he quit laughing, said "dang, that was pretty good, what do you want us to do about it?" I doubt he would get away with such a response today.
