Agreed on the handloading potential. The hottest commercial round I have found for the 460 is a Buffalo Bore that is rated at 2864 ft. lbs. The hottest commercial round I have found for the 500 is a Double Tap rated just over 3000 ft. lbs. The ability to shoot the other rounds outweighed the slight difference in energy potential.
