The early models had a lot of problems. They were fixed in the later models. That being said, that looks significantly different than my Sigma SW9VE. It's got a completely different grip and slide. That leaves me to believe it's one of the models from the 90's that had issues. The newer versions like mine, IMO are some of the best guns they've ever made. Especially for that budget price. I haven't had a single FTF or FTE in mine, the grip is comfortable and the trigger is ok once you get used to it. I have heard some people say that they sent those old models back to S&W to get reworked and they ended up getting the new version back because S&W wanted to get those off the street and replace with the reliable version. Probably less of a legal headache in the future. I don't know how true it is or how often it's done though.
