Ouch! Hope you are okay!

I humbly suggest you (read...everyone!) get some basic defensive tactics (martial arts) training. One should have had sufficient time to react to a thrown object in this scenario.

We are all friends here and I'm not trying to be a know-it-all. BUT what if had been a real bad guy waiting to rob you?

An additional note is that I always use the safety lock from the inside. HOWEVER, I married a good looking "dumb" blonde. If she had been the last one to use that lock.....well you know what I mean.
