This is an original Model 59/66 with all matching numbers. I was the original purchaser, and I bought it as an unissued rifle. This version of the SKS has a grenade launcher with an additional sight for launching grenades, and a button to turn off the gas system for grenade launching. Use of this system requires special grenade launching cartridges (without a projectile). I have no grenades, but I have seen YouTube videos on how to construct dummy grenades (non-exploding) you can launch just for grins. The rifle also has flip-up front and rear night sights which MAY have been luminescent at one time, but no longer glow. The bayonet, grenade launcher and sight are removable; should you want to customize the gun.
Barrel is 21" long. Although the stock is often called "Teak", I have been told that it is actually beech wood. It is attractive, nevertheless and looks a bit like oak grain. The rifle is in excellent used condition, showing only markings from being periodically cleaned at the arsenal where it was stored. I have fired around 250 rounds through it.
