Talked to a more knowledgeable CS agent today. He asked for my serial number, and then told me that my back sights are metal. He is correct. Evidently Smith changed after getting complaints about the back sight being plastic. If I were a SD9VE owner with the old plastic back sight, I would call and ask for a metal one. Anyway, he also told me that the front and back sights of the M&P will work on my weapon, and the truglo sights will work on it also. Any aftermarket sights for m and p will work on the sd9ve. They are dovetailed the same way.
